I really enjoyed the VoiceThread assignment. I felt that using the voice thread technology helped me to own my work and to show some pride in it. I also felt that doing this assignment helped me to further grasp the material introduced by my chosen prompts and objectives - even though it was third grade material. This tells me that this technology might help my future students to have a better understanding of material - especially my students who are audio-visual learners. Just reading my narrative aloud was enough to help me really grasp the material.
If I could do the VoiceThread assignment over, I would ahead and finish days in advance, as well as using another computer to upload and record my work. I encountered some technological issues. My original voice thread would not come up when I clicked to edit it. The warning kept popping up that the thread had been deleted, so I had to start over at the last minute. I am just glad that this VoiceThread is showing up, even if it is an hour late.
I honestly cannot wait to use this VoiceThread technology in my classroom. It is a great way to give students even more ownership over their work. I can also see myself using this to narrate stories for the class or to give presentations when I am not actually able to be present in the classroom on a particular day. This technology will also allow me to expose my students to technology in the classroom and to teach them as 21st century students ought to be taught.
